Acadia starboard view

Built in 1913 and decommissioned in 1969, CSS Acadia served Canada for more than 50 years. Built for hydrographic surveying and and oceanographic research in Northern Canadian waters, she charted the ocean floor with pride and purpose. Twice she was commissioned in the Royal Candian Navy and served as a training vessel for both world wars. She is one of the best preserved Edwardian ocean steamships in the world and the only ship that served in both world wars in the RCN still afloat.
Permanently moored behind the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic in Halifax N.S., she graces the waterfont year round
